Ahhh... I've missed this.

If you don't know me or what my brand is, let me give you a quick introduction. My name is Eladio Polanco. I created Empty Opinions as a place where I and many others can have a safe space for any type of conversation; anything from what's been your favorite movie recently to even the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. That's the basic gist of me and the brand as a whole. But if you're reading this blog post, you're probably a little bit familiar with the brand. I mean, how else would you have come across this website? I guess SEO could be doing its job and you found this from a Google search, but I don't know, that's a highly improbable. Whatever. I'm getting off-track.

Why did I start this blog?

That's a great question! Well, there's many reasons. The main one being that I've wanted to expand what Empty Opinions can be as a brand, and I personally just felt like I've gotten a pretty good grasp of audio and video content, both with the podcast and the reaction videos I've been doing exclusively on the YouTube channel. So in order to challenge myself more creatively, as well as add another dimension to this brand, this felt like the obvious way to go.

Also, in a more personal note, blogging was actually the way I started making content online. In 2016 (which was 6 years ago... wild), I started my own blog website where I would review movies and TV shows. It was around this time that I was discovering how much I truly loved both of those mediums, and I was bursting at the seams to talk to anyone about what my favorite thing I'd just watched was. Unfortunately, no one around me shared in that passion. So like most people in the digital age, I turned to the internet. And that was the butterfly effect moment that lead to everything that Empty Opinions is today. So in a beautiful, full-circle kinda way here I am again. Writing.

What can you expect from this blog?

Like I mentioned earlier, I want the blog to serve as another way where I can creatively express myself. So because of that, I will be trying out a lot of different stuff. Let's just start with the most likely ideas and end with the more flimsy. First and foremost, I want to start writing reviews again. That much should be obvious from the previous paragraph.

Next, I want the blog to be the place where I make big announcements about what's happening with the Empty Opinions brand. Kinda like how big brands do with press releases. It just feels more formal that way.

Also, I don't want this blog to just be me writing. That would probably get stale. So once I get going with the blog and it is more established, I want to start inviting guest writers on! This would be a great way to collaborate with other fellow writers, and the way I'm picturing it, it would be beneficial both ways. If we're talking about the brand, who am I kidding... it would definitely bring exposure to Empty Opinions to host a big writer's piece. That much is obvious. BUT! I also picture this blog as a place where writers who aren't quite as established can come and write whatever they want. At the end of the day, my goal with Empty Opinions is and always will be for it to be a platform for people to get their voices heard. This blog would be an extension of that.

Those are all the most likely types of content you will see in this blog, but I mean, the possibilities are endless here! I'm talking interviews, profile pieces, ranked lists, recommendations, hot takes, news stories... I can go on forever.
